Beth Bader Leads LPGA Event After Round One

In her first LPGA start of the season, Davenport native Beth Bader took the first-round lead Wednesday in the LPGA's LOTTE Championship in Hawaii.

The 38-year-old Iowa State Hall of Famer shot 4-under par 68 at Ko Olina golf course, giving her a one-stroke lead over world No. 1 Yani Tseng, Jiyai Shin, and Americans Angela Stanford and Brittany Lang.

"It feels good," said Bader. "Been awhile since I've been here. Been awhile since I actually teed it up in an event. But it was good."
