Qualified Charitable Distributions

Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs), also known as IRA Charitable Rollovers, can be a tax-efficient way to support the causes you care about while potentially reducing taxable income. A QCD is generally a non-taxable distribution made directly from your IRA (excluding SEP or SIMPLE IRAs, in most cases) to a qualified charitable organization, such as the Quad Cities Golf Classic Charitable Foundation (d/b/a John Deere Classic & Birdies for Charity).

Eligible individuals may direct a portion of their IRA to charity each year, subject to annual IRS limits and applicable rules, which can help lower taxable income. In certain situations, these distributions can also count toward required minimum distribution (RMD) obligations.

Because eligibility requirements, limits, and tax implications are subject to change and may vary based on individual circumstances, it’s important to consider your unique situation. Please consult your financial or tax advisor for guidance specific to your needs.

Please note: Qualified Charitable Distributions are not eligible for JDC/Platinum Tee Club benefits per IRS regulations.

To get started, complete the notification form below so we have all your information. Once completed, you will be emailed a copy that you can then provide to your IRA custodian.

For donations to the Bonus Fund, please list Bird #1041. If giving to multiple charities, please list Charity Name, Bird #, and amount designated to each.

Total donations of $1,500 & above are eligible for the Partner Program. The Partner Program is for those generous people (donations of $1,500 and above) who don't necessarily want to be in the contest, but still want to support their favorite charities, and the tournament. If you would like to participate in the Partner Program and accept On-Course recognition, please enter the exact name as it should be listed below. Otherwise, skip ahead.
